Lori Price, editor of Citizens for Legitimate Government , a true Internet news site, got on an exclusive release list for the D.C. Madam’s phone records from non other than D.C. Madam Deborah Jane Palfrey. When I saw this, I was happy to hear that CLG and Lori got the exclusive. Then it dawned on me, SHE GOT THE RECORDS. She's one of us, in a broad sense, a true internet news service editor and publisher.
But wait, didn't ABC's Brian Ross have access to these records for days. Didn't Ross (who I like) say that there wasn't much of interest there. I'd sure hate to be one of his research associates...becasue Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) would certainly have been of great interest.
The Australian Sydney Morning Herald did a great article on the RECORDS and the intense search of those numbers by US bloggers. This is a major event for the internet news providers. Along with publisher Larry Flynt, CLG and Price got a second look at what ABC combed over and they did an better job than ABC researchers. This is not gloating and certainly not criticism of Ross, who did exceptional work on breaking and extrapolating the Page Scandal prior to the 2006 elections. It's a compliment to internet news folks, small shops with big impact now, who picked up the ball and exposed a real hypocrite.
The impact: Vitter was at the top of the list of Guillani's potential Vice President picks. OMG!!!
Here's the Herald article, in summary, with a link to the entire article.

"Some top level Republicans are making statements about lifestyles and family values," said Lori Price, editor of the liberal Citizens for Legitimate Government website, explaining her motivation. "We want to see if they are in fact living their lives based on what they are preaching and forcing us to comply with. We see some hypocrisy."
