The turnip-truck government

There is an old joke; how many people does it take to change a light bulb? That joke has many variations as to who the people are one is speaking of.  In this case, I will use the government of the United States of America.  With that said; how many governmental officials does it take to change a light bulb?  Do you want to know the answer to that one?  None are able to do it since they cannot come up with any agreement of how the light bulb is to be changed.  Most likely, they cannot even come up with what type of light bulb they are to use and how much money it will cost to purchase this light bulb.  Also while going to the store, they will add on other items to increase the amount of this purchase and that is known as pork.

With all of that said, it still boggles my mind how some will even think that the government had the smarts to pull off the terrorists attacks of 9/11 given the fact they have a hard time coming to any form of consensus of how to govern the people.  Like it or not, we have a turnip-truck government.

As Americans are confronted with ever increasing gas prices which tack on what price we pay for food items and how much it will cost us to get to work, one must wonder; just how many of these elected officials fell off the turnip truck and hit their heads in their failure to address and correct this problem.
