This is an open letter to the presidents of Russia and China. If you think this is worth their reading, then help move it along across the Internet until they see it.

*********

To: the honorable Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation and to the honorable Hu Jintao, President of the People's Republic of China.

Sirs,

The planet is facing an extremely dangerous and potentially globally devastating situation in the Middle East as I write. My country, the United States of America, has seen its key policy-making institutions hijacked in the last few years by a cadre of irrational and emotionally possessed individuals bonded together into what is well-known in the mass media as the Neocon Movement. They have a declared agenda of world hegemony that we are all quite familiar with by now, conveniently typed up in the original Project for a New American Century declaration that I am sure you are familiar with.

This is a document that is the height of hubris and disrespect for all peoples on this planet, because it reduces us all, and all the world's resources, to mere pawns and assets in a violent geopolitical game of "King of the Hill".

This cadre has also taken great pains to repress or dilute legitimate debate and dissent in America by manipulating the mass media to unprecedented levels, while assaulting reasoned positions against their destructive agendas with crass and vitriolic attacks appealing to fear, hatred and jingoism. Consequently, millions of Americans now feel voiceless, frustrated and left to their own devices to confront the ongoing degradation of the good name and reputation of America. This is why I have crafted this letter.

The Neocon agenda has already cost the lives of hundreds of thousands of people, impoverished and rendered homeless millions, and squandered vast resources and treasures on purely negative and destructive ends. For example, there are now over four million externally or internally exiled citizens of Iraq, most of whom now live in the most dire and sickening conditions imaginable, with no end in sight to the carnage there. While lives and resources are being squandered on enforcing America's will on a largely Moslem country, true problems facing the world, such as global warming, worsening poverty and vast deforestation, to name just a few, are not being properly addressed.

And now, as obsessively as Hitler entertained invading Russia in World War II, the Neocon movement is obsessed with destroying the Iranian State, projecting all manner of negative stereotypes as well as their own psychopathology upon it. If left to their own devices, and without a serious international challenge to their obsession, this same cadre that has devastated Iraq will soon either engineer an event, a False Flag Operation to put it in historical terms, or propagandize the situation in Iraq to the point where they can rationalize a surprise attack on Iran, an attack that may very likely kill a number of Russian and Chinese citizens serving as experts in Iran, not to mention thousands of Iranians.

Such an attack would rapidly escalate hostilities in the Middle East, if not beyond, and possibly throw the world economy out of balance, especially given the instability of oil prices and resources. The potential negative consequences are vast and dark indeed. And it is no secret that there are now those within the United States government, as well as the pseudo "think-tanks" that develop ideology and policy for the Neocon movement, who view Islam and the over a billion Moslems on this planet as myopically and sinisterly as the Nazis viewed the Jews in the 1930s and '40s, and who actively wish them harm. This cauldron of hatred can envelop the world in flames.

Certainly both China and Russia will feel these consequences geopolitically and economically. Allowing the world to proceed down this path invites chaos and destruction. So on every ground, President Putin and President Jintao, ethical, social, economic, humanitarian and political, I implore both of you, who are leaders of great and venerable countries with long traditions of intelligent diplomacy and thoughtful decision-making, to step into the void here and prevent a catastrophe from occurring against Iran and, potentially, the rest of the Middle East and beyond.

For peace, and the progress and unity of humanity,

Mac McKinney
