Recently Rudy Giuliani called Democrats "the party of losers" for demanding a scheduled pullout of American troops from Iraq and he stated that "Democrats have already declared we've lost" and now they want to give the enemy a time table for withdrawal. Giuliani then declared he was for victory while the Democrats were "living in a world where they refuse to admit the existence of Islamic terrorism.

Saying the war in Iraq cannot be won militarily supported by statements from the key personnel involved on the ground is not the same as declaring we've lost. Taking issue with a time table for withdrawal ignores the issue that this military action lacked an exit strategy from its inception and admitting the existence of Islamic terrorism by refusing to admit that it is our foreign policy that produces to some degree the causes and conditions for Islamic terrorism ignores reality. Apparently Giuliani didn't read the books suggested by Rep Ron Paul after the second Republican debate.

The last thing this country needs is another divisive and delusional demagogue who cannot define "victory" and doesn't give a damn about the opinion of over 60 percent of the people who just two weeks ago claimed they were opposed to the war in Iraq.

The next to the last thing this country needs is another tough talking coward who is eager to order other men and women to make the supreme sacrifice for this nation's perpetual state of war that he avoided when exercised privilege by first securing a student deferment and then securing a civilian occupation deferment from the Vietnam War.

Calling over 60 percent of the people "losers" it is not the kind of leadership over 60 percent of the people want. More importantly it is not the kind of leadership our Republic needs to survive the increasing complexities in a world which we share. Giuliani's words last week exposed him as that divisive, delusional demagogue and that tough talking coward who appeals to the baser instincts of man by using the fear of "Islamic terrorism" to justify "the war on terrorism" and guarantee a perpetual state of violence begetting violence where others will be called upon to make the supreme sacrifice for a chicken hawk barking about a victory that does not exist.
