I wake up
With cobwebs in my mouth

Tissue paper
Lines the inside of my eyelids

Another day
Is about to begin

I welcome it
Because I expect good things

I dread it
Because I fear the worst

I know the war still grinds on

I know more of them died
While I slept

This is not unusual

It happens every night
Around the world

But the dying in Iraq
Has a special quality

The dying in Iraq
Is because of us

The dying in Iraq
Is because we invaded them

They didn't invade us

We opened Pandora's Box

We knocked Humpty Dumpty
Off the wall

And all of King George's
Horses and men

Can't put Humpty Dumpty
Back together again
