Re: From the Eyes of a Child...

Dear Pope Benedict:

The joyous celebration of Jesus' birth will soon be upon us. With deep faith and respect, I ask again for waves of faith, hope and love that your presence and words, will provide to Catholics and non-Catholics throughout the world.

The clergy sex abuse crisis has taken its toll and there are still many wounded who fear speaking out. If we try to remember what the world should be like, waves of hope, faith and love will bless all during this time of year.

From the eyes of a child, the world is at peace; and it is not until later, that betrayal is seen. From the eyes of a child, should we fear speaking out, and if we choose to protect, will we be shown the way out?

From the eyes of a child, we trust in all who care, but question why families were never aware. From the eyes of a child, we share blind faith; and question why silence brings us more pain.

From the eyes of a child, we believe in all good; and wish that our elders will tell all that is pure. From the eyes of a child, we are taught to do right, and question why many continue to fight.

From the eyes of a child, failed justice we don't understand; and pray those in charge, will show us a plan. From the eyes of a child, we want justice and peace; and struggle with prayer so all will be heard.

From the eyes of a child, world leaders speak out and confusion continues when free speech is badmouthed. From the eyes of a child, we know lives were destroyed; and can't help but question why speech annoys.

From the eyes of a child, we pray fighting will stop and those who were hurt, will find courage to reach out. From the eyes of a child, we speak words we are taught, and confusion continues each time we witness bad talk.

From the eyes of a child, love always prevails; we pray children and families will find the strength to remain.

Without justice there will never be peace; without peace, faith is empty.
