As right-wing radio and media embarks upon a second straight week of Clinton-bashing, Clinton-hating, Clinton smearing, Clinton loathing, etc...silence is no longer an option.

First to New York where Rupert Murdoch's conservative rag, the New York Post, is allowed to act up and behave like an unrestrained child.

The Post, putting politics ahead of its integrity, made a joke--less than 10 seconds long and uttered in Davenport, Iowa--the bold font headline and entire focal point of Monday's paper.

The article reads like it is the fruit of serious investigative reporting. It looks, smells, tastes and even feels like an objective, just-the-facts article. In this case, the Post "uncovers" how a passing joke made front-page headlines and overshadowed Clinton's campaign stop in Davenport, Iowa.

"The flap over her quip," the Post declares, "overshadowed her slap at President Bush's war policy."

Bravo. How keen. Since this article was published in today's paper, the editors at the Post must have put it to bed some time last night. How in the world could this reporter, without polling data, without substantive evidence, without even a full day of hindsight, report that Clinton's quip overshadowed her slap at President Bush's war policy?

Simple: the Post editorial staff decided that the quip should overshadow her comments about Bush. Essentially the Post is reporting about the consequences of its editorial decision-making. The quip overshadowed her slap at the President because the Post made it overshadow her slap at the President.

One look at the news sources that joined the Post in bashing Clinton over what should have been an irrelevant and light-hearted remark, erases any doubt that this is not a hit job perpetrated by the conservative media.

Those sources are Fox News, the National Review, the Drudge Report, All Bend to Conservatism (ABC), the National Ledger in Arizona, and the list goes on.

Unlike The Nation, which freely admits it is an opinion magazine, The Post hides its conservative agenda behind the facade of objectivity. From behind this arras, paid hit men for the corporate conservative agenda seek to manipulate even the smallest political trifles into smear campaigns against Democrats.

Meanwhile, Rush Limbaugh has been playing the clip all day, augmenting his ongoing, all-out crusade against Clinton that began in the first fifteen minutes of his first program after Clinton announced her candidacy.

Sean Hannity has joined him to the point where even Hannity's callers beg him to talk about something else.

The Republican company spokespeople want Clinton to be defeated. For them, trashing Clinton is sport. This woman has shown more grace and dignity over the last decade in the public spotlight then these apes exhibit in one hour, whether it be on their radio or cable programs.

Rush Limbaugh can taunt Clinton for the Monica Lewinsky affair without abandon, while the media gives him a free pass on his THREE divorces.

What leads to a divorce folks? You think Limbaugh can keep it in his pants? He gets on the radio for three hours a day and savages Democrats, especially Clinton for matters sexual and all the while nobody's looking around the curtains of his sexual life.

Of course you couldn't pay anyone enough to witness such horrors, but we know he's had three divorces. He's envisioned Congress bending over and grabbing its ankles for Nancy Pelosi...HIS WORDS!!!

Not much more needs to be said to give you a glimpse into his mind. And this self-proclaimed representative for decency is waging an unquestioned campaign against a gentlewoman and a senator who has transcended the filth that passes for political commentary in this country in her rise toward the presidency...it makes me sick.
