Ron Paul is on a roll, and his demise has once again been greatly exaggerated as some in the mainstream media and his rivals keep waiting for his campaign to stall and falter. He has shown remarkable resiliency and has been able to bounce back from any adversity. The establishment may no longer be able to contain the Ron Paul revolution and the winds of change. After a respectable fifth place showing in Iowa, he has practically run the gauntlet on every straw poll since. The corporate- controlled media has neglected to report on this astonishing feat. Not surprisingly, they have for the most part made a concerted effort to ignore his candidacy. Ron Paul has some of the most dedicated and loyal supporters who aren't about to abandon him when the going gets tough. This movement goes well beyond and is much bigger than Ron Paul. It is about taking our government and country back.
America needs hope and is looking for a leader who will restore truth, honor and valor back to this tarnished republic. Ron Paul is the man for the job and his candidacy for president couldn't have come at a more crucial time in our history. The emerging North American Union threatens to destroy the little sovereignty we have left, while illegal immigration, outsourcing of jobs, and trade deals such as NAFTA have left a depleted and almost non-existent middle class. With Ron Paul as president, he would negotiate fair trade deals that wouldn't just benefit the multinational corporations or those with political connections. He would pull the U.S. out of the United Nations and the WTO, as we have already ceded much of our sovereignty to these organizations. He is legendary in his following of the constitution, and while other politicians seek to take away our liberty for security, he wishes to preserve and restore our God-given rights to freedom-something that no government should be able to take away in the first place. In addition, Ron Paul as president will ensure that our troops in Iraq come home almost immediately, and he may be our only prevention of future military action in Iran or elsewhere.
Before the Iowa straw poll, it should be noted that Ron Paul had little in the way of organization in place in that state. In fact, he had opened a campaign office in Iowa just days before the polling began. He also did not bus in voters and spent far less than most of his opponents. In light of all of this, it makes his fifth-place finish that much more amazing, and it can only be looked upon as a victory. It has also been reported that there were problems and possible irregularities with the diebold voting machines. Some have suggested that he may have been robbed of a first or second-place showing. Being the class act that he is, he was encouraged by the results and didn't complain. This humble man welcomed the outcome as the mainstream media called his results respectable, when you know very well they are just waiting for his campaign to crash and burn. They are constantly trying to misrepresent him, and are engaging in guilt by association tactics to no avail. Nevertheless, the Iowa straw poll could be a little foreshadowing of what might await Dr. Paul if he goes in to the primaries as one of the front-runners.
Since Iowa, Ron Paul has finished first in four straw polls and is currently leading an online poll. The straw poll wins were in North Carolina, New Hampshire, Alabama, and Washington State. This is quite an accomplishment from a man whose support is supposedly meager and limited to just the internet. All this has been ignored by the media as they continue to propagandize him as a second tier and fringe candidate, when he has clearly broken that mold and has emerged as a viable option and threat. Over the weekend Ron Paul came in third in the Texas straw poll. He had by far the most supporters at the event, but most were unable to vote as only delegates to the state convention were eligible. He captured close to 17% of the vote. Also a recent online straw poll posed the question, “Who do you want to see as president?” The list included both Democrats and Republican candidates. At the time of this article Ron Paul had received a whooping 7678 votes - 61%. The closest candidate to him was Dennis Kucinich, with 1565 votes – 12%. USA Election Polls is responsible for this poll and they are one of the most recognizable and visited sites of this kind. While the haters claim that online polls are being manipulated by supporters of Ron Paul, keep in mind that most of these are limited to one vote per computer IP address.
In an effort to try and capture Ron Paul's success, some of his fellow Republican presidential candidates are starting to sound more and more like him. In an age where most politicians flip-flop and say anything to get elected, Ron Paul is a model of consistency and what you see is what you get. This isn't some act or game-this is our future that will be decided. His grassroots message is also spreading and Ron Paul meet-up groups are now spawning across parts of Canada, as not only Americans realize things will be better off with him as president. It will be a long and grueling campaign, but things are just getting warmed up and his momentum shows no sign of peaking before the primaries roll around. By that time, the Ron Paul machine will be in place, and those who were skeptical will be surprised. Ron Paul more than anyone understands what is at stake, and like his supporters he is committed to the very end.
Ron Paul's campaign has come a long way, but that is not to say that we should be satisfied with what has already transpired. Maybe along the way our expectations have been exceeded, but there is nothing to celebrate yet and no time to be complacent. He has struck a chord with the people who have heard his message of hope and liberty. Our goal is to get his name and his message to the rest of the freedom-hungry masses. We all at sometime in our life can identify with the underdog role that has been cast upon him and just imagine how sweet it will be when we do achieve our goals. To quote a great patriot Aaron Russo, who passed away recently, “NOW IS THE TIME to join with me and support Ron Paul. I've seen you at work. You can do this. WE can do this!” He may no longer be with us, but his spirit, passion and dreams live on. We will finish what others like him have started. By getting Ron Paul elected president, it will go a long way in restoring the United States as a beacon of hope, liberty, and freedom.
