I have set before you life and death,
the blessing and the curse.
Choose life, then,
that you and your descendants may live.
There is a great spiritual battle going on in the US, between those who choose life and those who choose death. Choosing life means safeguarding the planet for our descendants, taking the long view for seven generations, as Native American wisdom teaches.
The Bush administration deals in death- massive bombings, strewing of uranium weaponry across Iraq and Afghanistan, abandonment of hurricane victims to their fate, weakening of environmental safeguards so that global warming accelerates and toxins accumulate- the list goes on and on. Their underlying theology teaches that planet earth is meant to perish, at least as the home of humans and other living creatures, and that the "elect" will be raptured up to heaven with Jesus, and transported to another plane of existence.
In the practical area, Bush is bankrupting the US treasury, despoiling the land, taking away medical care from those who need it most, ignoring global warming and contributing to its acceleration, and generally being destructive. Hurricanes, dying of coral reefs, the plight of the polar bears, the increase in homelessness and incarceration in the US, increasing poverty and disease- all these are also hallmarks of satan.
We have satan, antichrist, in the White House.
It is not too late for us to choose life. We need to impeach and convict Bush and Cheney, and get them out of power. We need a government that will look out for the welfare of the people, and for future generations.
The time is now. We cannot wait until tomorrow, or November. Now is the time to choose life.
If you are not already active in the impeachment movement, get active. Join your local impeachBush meetup at www.impeachBush.meetup.com or your local Progressive Democrats of America chapter www.PDA.org or go to www.afterDowningstreet.org for lots of other resources. If you care about the future, if you choose life, get active NOW!
