Rep. John J. Duncan on March 6, 2003 made a speech on why the United States should not go to war against Iraq. For the full speech click here:

"The Congressional Budget Office estimated that a very short war followed by a five-year occupation of Iraq would cost the U.S. $272 billion, this on top of an estimated $350 billion deficit for the coming fiscal year. It is a traditional conservative position to be against the U.S. being the policeman of the world. That is exactly what we will be doing if we go to war in Iraq. "
Few in the Knoxville. Tennessee area are old enough to remember when “Jimmy” Duncan or his father before him did not represent the 2nd District. Wouldn’t it be nice to thank him for what he has done and then ask him to consider signing on for impeachment of Dick Cheney?
Margaret Bassett passed away August 21, 2011. She was a treasured member of the Opednews.com editorial team for four years.
Margaret Bassett--OEN editor--is an 89-year old, currently living in senior housing, with a lifelong interest in political philosophy. Bachelors from State University of Iowa (1944) and Masters from Roosevelt University (1975) help to unravel important requirements for modern communication. Early introduction to computer science (1966) trumps them. It's payback time. She's been "entitled" so long she hopes to find some good coming off the keyboard into the lives of those who come after her.
