WAR ON CHRISTMAS
by Susan Campbell
It's war on Christmas, we are told.
It never will survive,
Unless with whines and bullying
O'Reilly can contrive
To make us all feel miserable.
We're victims of a scheme
To steal from us our God-giv'n right
For Christ to rule supreme.
Christians are majority
So they must have their way.
We all must speak the words they want,
Their symbols on display.
To flaunt a rigid dominance
Is their one driving aim.
Not love nor peace nor tolerance.
All "others" they'll defame.
But this un-Christian meanness
Destroys their very souls
The spirit they pretend to serve
Is lost to the patrols
Of fundamental Talibans ï ¿ ½
Those trolls on Fox TV
The Dobsons, Robertsons and such
Who scream out their decree
That words are more important than
The spirit we've been taught
That peace and generosity
Are not what should be sought
Love and hope and peace on earth
Are surely ground to death
They die each time those word police
Expel their evil breath.
