If you’ve been following Jim’s poetry here at OpEdNews, you’ve seen the passion and poignancy with which he writes. I not only read Jim’s work at OpEdNews, but am on his mailing list. Consequently, you can imagine how honored I was when Jim asked me to put music to “Crossroad Bridge #3”. I’ve written hundreds of songs, some good, some not so good, some bad and some you’ll never hear. I knew that I had to write special music for “Crossroad Bridge #3” and I’m not sure that I’ve done that yet.
I sent Jim four arrangements of the same version and he told me to use the arrangement I like best. This song may be a work still in progress or maybe it will stay this way.
By the way, as I’ve written for OpEdNews and am an assistant editor, I don’t mean for this to be spam in any way, shape or form. In the ‘60s and early ‘70s, music was just one of the driving forces which brought the Vietnam War to an end. I hope that poetry like Jim’s and music like mine might play some part, albeit small, in bringing The Regime’s attempt at world hegemony to its own failed conclusion.Crossroad Bridge #3 – the song.
