I stood there
On the searing floor
While quickly, all around me
Gathered smoke and desperate screams
I stood there
Trying to reach my loves
But found no precious answer
In the, suddenly merciless, cyber streams
I stood there
With dark visions of hell
And the vague and hazy pictures
Of so many lost and broken dreams
Watching frightened people jump
As the heartless flames drove them out
Through black holes, to blue summer seams
I stood there
Reeling and thinking, sadly
Of good lives and soft loves gone by
And how painfully brief the time now seems
I stood there
Wrestling with the choking fear
And sternly denied the undeniable evidence
Confirming the ending of all my plans and themes
I stood there
As the melting floor gave way
And I swiftly and silently dropped
Into the end of all my best-laid schemes
I stood there and fell
With one last shining thought
That harbored all of my final feelings
About the nature of life and what it all really means
"I love you"
