You might remember some of these stories, or maybe they're all new to you. Regardless whether you heard them or not, they all bear repeating because they may be symptomatic of a society and culture in the early stages of a complete meltdown.

This story is so outrageous it seems like a parody that appeared in 'The Onion." But no, the story is true and it happened to a 12-year old girl named Ansche Hedgepeth who was caught eating her last french fry in the Washington, D.C. Metro subway station. You see, there's no snacking allowed, so obviously someone--anyone--is eating anything they must be arrested, handcuffed, booked and fingerprinted as a dangerous criminal.
What would have happened if--God forbid--she was eating a whole box of Cracker Jack? Life imprisonment?

Stephanie Willett, who works for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency was caught in the crime of chewing. She was finishing up eating a PayDay candy bar when an authority stepped in, informed her she'd broken the law, and arrested and handcuffed her.
Was that a skit on Comedy Central? No, it appeared as a news item in the Washington Post.
