Voters stayed home in 2014 in the last off-year election when only 36.4% of eligible voters went to the polls, the lowest turnout in 70 years!
Historically, Republicans always motivate their base voters in these midterm elections so anti-Trump may not be enough for people who are turned off by nasty, corrupt politics that they believe will not change no matter which party is in control.
This November the Republicans still have their visceral issues to motivate their base: "Democrats want to take away all of our guns, abolish the 2nd Amendment and open up our borders to those brown-skinned murderers, rapists, drug dealers and MS-13 illegals."
That and the fact that people have more money in their pockets because of the wonderful Trump tax cut, the stock market is roaring, unemployment is at historic lows, 401Ks are growing and Democrats offer -- ???
I'm not just playing devil's advocate but someone please point to the so-called leadership in the Democratic Party that has become marginalized by indentity politics and Trump angst.
Accept it or not, white America voted their white preference in the white White House in 2016.
The majority of white voters in every single demographic including age, gender, millennials, college educated and annual incomes above $50,000 voted for the whoremongering, adulterer, traitorous, lying, grab-them-by-the-pu**y, white supremacist.
For Trump to get into the Oval Office those numbers also had to have included a substantial number of Democrats who came out of the closet to support the eugenics-believing Imperial Wizard. Am I wrong?
