The truth is, the mainstream media love elections for the money. The Republican and Democrat candidates will probably be spending more than a billion dollars each on TV advertising in the 2016 campaign. One expert estimates that $3.5 billion will be spent on ad campaigns.
He is actually a real contender. Already in just a very short time, he has surpassed all the republican primary candidates. Yet the mainstream media are either ignoring him or focusing on negatives.
If the MSM starts giving him the attention they're giving candidates with far less likelihood to win from the right, they'll make more money. The more traction Sanders gets, the more that will spent in the primaries. Clinton has huge financial resources. Sanders has shown that he can raise serious money.
If Sanders wins, the PAC money that will be thrown into media to defeat him will break historic records. It's bad business for the MSM to do anything other than give Sanders strong coverage. If the MSM were covering a boxing match and they told the story that one fighter was going to destroy the other, then there would be little interest in the match.
But this is not happening. The MSM are going against their financial best interests in treating Sanders in a way that hurts his campaign. They did the same thing with Howard Dean. Sanders told CNN that they're doing more coverage of the political gossip than of the issues, as he says in the video above.
Why? That's the question. Why do you think they're doing it?
