What the Hell Was Obama Thinking Inviting Rick Warren to Give the Invocation at OUR Inauguration?

What a horrid kiss-ass of the religious right blunder.

This is OUR inauguration and Warren represents only about ten percent of the population, and after eight years of Bush we don’t need another ten-percenter.

I had hoped after desperate hope that Barack Obama wouldn’t make a bone-headed move in his first days of office as Bill Clinton did with gays in the military, which set the tone of his entire presidency and a firestorm of protest that wasn’t necessary.

Although I agree that the military should be desexualized, it was something that Clinton should have done quietly…like in his second year in office.

Then Obama goes and makes an “explicative deleted” dumbass move like this even before taking the oath of office.

Like Clinton, who didn’t read the political thermometer well at all on gays in the military, Obama is totally tone deaf to the wails of four segments of the population: Homosexuals, scientists, pro-choicers and church and state separators, which most of us fall into one or more of those categories.

I am so angry and feel so betrayed for myself and 90 percent of the country, it’s taking all my will power to avoid profane descriptive adjectives and adverbs in writing this.

Personally, I don’t believe there should even be an invocation at an any government function. And we can damn well be sure that Warren won’t be stopped from making his religious entreaty strictly born again religious right, blind, twisted interpretation of the Christian bible, and won’t be non-sectarian in any way, which doesn’t allow for any of the rest of us.

There shouldn’t be a daily opening prayer in Congress, nor should any president ever say god bless you or god bless America. Why should god bless us or our country any more or less than any other country? But if they must have inaugural invocations, why the hell did he have to stupidly and thoughtlessly pick this religious Cretin?

According to uptight asses like Warren, if we don’t do it his way we’re all doomed to eternal damnation, which is a pile of crap.

If Obama wants to suck up to the Christian extremists, he can damn well do it on his own time and dime … not mine … not ours.

I didn’t approve of his going to Saddleback Church for that ridiculous debate of sorts with John McCain, but I closed my eyes to it, because candidates do all sorts of pandering things to curry favor with voters.

It was bad enough that McCain sucked up to the religious right and took endorsements from the most despicable of them who had stabbed him in the back every bit as much George Bush had.

If McCain wanted to be a two-faced ass, fine! He wasn’t my candidate anyway.

And if George and Laura wanted to go on the other biggest arrogant ass on television, Dr. Phil, and make utter fools of themselves … fine! but my candidate, John Kerry, never should have.

I know it’s tradition for the president to take the oath of office by swearing his fidelity to the Constitution on a bible.
