I attended the massive One Nation Working Together Rally on Saturday Oct 2, 2010 under Abraham Lincoln's long shadow on the National Mall, a rally for peace, economic and social justice and job and environmental recovery as well as a coalescing movement to fulfill America's Higher Self, as opposed to continuing to feed her lower demon, as has been done relentlessly ever since the Cheney/Bush cabal maneuvered America into the quicksands of fear, loathing and paranoia, metastasized with hatred, war, imperialism and greed under the corrupt and degenerate powers of Wall Street, the Plutocrats, warmongers and racists in this country.
But America in reactionary retrograde has about played itself out. Although the demagogues of the Right and the sleazy velvet salesmen of the soulless Establishment may be able to stampede unknowledgeable Americans into supporting their toxic agendas a bit longer, reality and Universal Law are rising up like dragons now to breathe fire on their toxic ideologies, destructive institutions and multiple foul deeds. Totally absent from the core of their oligarchic ruling class, greed-driven and rape-Nature creed are the forces of Truth, Justice and Universal Love. A civilization without these principles enshrined cannot long endure, as we have witnessed time and again in the history of the world.
The yet at this point largely unconscious, dispersed, but still healthy American body-politic is beginning to wake up to this reality, that the ruling class and leading institutions of the nation are all but rotten to the core and inimical to their livelihoods, not to mention the life of the planet. Thus the body-politic has instinctively begun to unite for the common struggle to overcome the forces of greed, hatred and exploitation of our fellow man and woman and natural world, not merely within America, but beyond America, because in the final analysis, this is all about the well-being and evolution of ALL our brothers and sisters on this planet. Americans are understanding better and better that an injustice to one is an injustice to us all, no matter where in this world, for we must all bear the reverberating consequences of such negative actions.
Thus it was very promising to see that some 400 organizations found enough common ground to endorse this huge rally on October 2nd, ranging from unions and educators to environmentalists, Latinos, Indian Activists to Gays to Baptists to 9/11 Truth advocates to socialists to mainstream Democrats, with many more, too many to mention. Unions, particularly, were in strong display, a very good sign indeed if the working man and woman are going to reclaim their place under the sun. They will help form the strong backbone of this newly coalescing, now awakening American giant.
