I want to thank everyone trying to help and whose heartfelt wish is to save the lives of Donbass from the reality of ethnic cleansing. That is all this has ever been about-- not language, not ethnicity, and not politics. In western Ukraine people are protesting and getting the same treatment. From the build-up of Maidan until today it has become one hell of a ride for everyone here. Pray no one ever hands you a ticket to it.

For weeks the sounds of shelling fill our days and nights and shake our house. The glare of sniper scopes in the distance are visible because they are pointed in our direction, and the inflow of Pravy Sektor, Kolomoisky's mercenaries, National Guard, and regular army has been dramatic.

Armored personnel carriers, tanks, large machine guns, and automatic weapons are now a constant feature on our streets. Each group has a different mandate, a different command structure and focus.

When the regular army enters the shops in town they are respectful to everyone. In light of what's going on, one of the shopkeepers asked an officer if they were here to kill us? The officer answered "Of course not!"

That was 2 days ago. The same day a local farmer from our town was harvesting grain on his field and troops practiced sniper shots on his tractor. Although he is uninjured, his grain will now go to waste. There will be less flour available to local bakeries.

When the Kolomoisky mercenaries go into the shops it's like a siege. They come twenty at a time circling the shop with their weapons pointing at anyone walking by. They do not receive government supplies so they clean out the stores, leaving little for residents. Transportation is at a standstill with the threat of snipers, and buses are stopped. People no longer have even moderate access to necessities, never mind luxury items.

This is Wilkes. He's not dead, he's passed out drunk. When a mercenary like Wilkes isn't dead drunk he keeps busy shooting ambulances, orphanages, and refugees trying to flee.

#SaveDonbassPeople in all its forms is our plea for the right to share the same air, to live. It represents the hope for our children's future, the love of family and the duty to protect them. The situation here ramped up so quickly that it became convenient to forget the promised genocide that pre-dated the Euro Maidan. The threats increased at the same rate that the violence escalated in Kiev. The Southeast wanted a dialogue with Kiev until the the Referendum results became known.

Poroshenko's Peace Initiative of June 22

The peace plan which was dubbed by the president of Ukraine as "Plan A" gave an ultimatum for New Russia (the Southeast) to put down their weapons; anyone not directly involved would be spared. Considering that everyone here was involved in the referendum and have family and friends affected by the mass killing of civilians, this made for a great sound bite for the UN and US to grab hold of. Three things that show it was never intended to be implemented:

  • Kiev never engaged in dialogue with the Donetsk National Republic, and Lugansk Republic. If you have a plan for peace it would be helpful to at least outline it to the other parties and get their reaction. At the time of publication, two days after the peace plan was rolled out Kiev has started a dialogue in Donetsk to last until the 27th.

  • Each time Kiev has said peace they used the time to re-position soldiers and equipment: Massacres in Slovyansk, Odessa, and Kramatorsk Massacres are examples that come to mind.

  • In reaction to the peace plan, Kolimoisky (banker, Jewish leader, oligarch statesman of Ukraine) stated that he will not be governed by Poroshenko. He would continue military operations until all the Moskal are killed. Take him seriously: this is a guy that rips down holocaust memorials (Crimea- before Maidan) and built luxury housing where the crematorium stood. He organized and paid for the Odessa Trade Union House massacre and the Mariupol massacre. He has challenged the legitimacy of Kiev and declared himself a separatist. Should we tell president Obama? Does Ms. Psaki know anything about this? Is it Putin's fault?
