Let me 'pivot' (as our smooth-talking faux-Emperor likes to say) off of Moyers' headline term "Two Americas", but with an entirely different (and I hope revealing) meaning.
Yes, there ARE "Two Americas" but they are these:
1. America the country, many think 'our country', a distinct nation-state, with freedom, and justice, and something in the way of money, consumer goods, and pride for all.
This is the America that vast numbers of Americans think and talk about, that pompous and pontificating Senators appearing on "Meet the Press" brag about, that is the ultimate national 'celebrity' sung about at sporting events, and that some actually understand as the idea of a country that birthed itself from the British Empire as a 'city on the hill' of democracy.
2. America as nothing so important as a Dual-Party facade of 'Vichy' government to hide a fast evolving, but disguised, Global Empire, which is trying out the term 'Globalism' to see if the rubes will still sing about it, salute it, and pledge allegiance to it.
With respect to my alternate definition of the "Two Americas", I would posit this topical writing prompt for your review, discussion, debate, and arguments (which progressives always like to do on such progressive web-sites):
"Obama is continuing the exact same central strategic political- policy edict that Reagan, Bush 1, Clinton, and Bush 2 have followed since 1980 in terms of the above defined 'Two Americas', as simply stated:
"Starve the country and feed the Empire"
"Applaud the country and deny the Empire"
Well folks, what do you think?
