Let's all speak loudly, carry a big stick and snatch victory from defeat.
Start by getting your friends to vote in the 2018 mid-term elections! Birds of a feather generally flock together, so it's likely that on important issues you and close friends agree. Don't assume that all your friends vote. Many don't!
ADDRESS SEXUAL ABUSE!
The Kavanaugh debacle shone a bright spotlight on the disturbing reality of sexual abuse in our nation.
Aside from raw anger, most people's inclination is protesting and working to get the vote out. However, there are lots of other great opportunities if we care enough to spend the time to make things happen.
Insist that Congress create legislation that ensures victims of sexual abuse will not be victimized by the system if they report it. Find willing legislators to work with to make change happen.
There are plenty of Democrat and Republican politicians who want to create a safer society for all. Seek out the ones who will work with you. Vote for the politicians that share your values!
Protest is good. It makes noise and gets attention.
Productive discourse and the creation of tougher laws, stronger enforcement and prosecution of sexual predators will be even more effective.
Approximately 400,000 rape kits have not been tested? It's a national disgrace!
