This country (and the world) desperately need 9/11 truth in order to stop endless wars and to restore constitutional rights to habeas corpus, freedom from search and seizure, and free speech. But 9/11 truth has been so stigmatized by our two political parties and the MSM, that anyone who is even associated with "Truthers" is easily dismissed as a deluded "conspiracy theorist".
Enter Tulsi Gabbard, Major in the Army Reserves, two-time combat veteran of wars in the Middle East, lifelong Democrat, Presidential candidate, with an entry point into the debate that checkmates the opposition.
A group of family members of 9/11 victims is suing the government of Saudi Arabia for the role that they played in killing of their loved ones. Evidence for the Saudi role has already been collected and written up by our own government. It is in the 28 redacted pages of the Kean 9/11 report. It is in an FBI document that has been released to the plaintiffs' lawyers "under seal" so that it remains classified and cannot be used as evidence in the case.
Saudi Arabia has been hailed by D's and R's alike as our best ally in the Moslem world. In fact, they are only the best ally of our banks and our military contractors. They export terrorist ideology. They bomb and attack civilians (Yemen). They are middlemen buying weapons from the US and selling them to groups that seek to destabilize legitimate governments in the Middle East and even Latin America.
For 3 days following 9/11/2001, no one was allowed to fly a plane in American air space. No one. No one at all, except members of the Saudi Royal Family, including the bin Ladens. They were shuttled out of the US and back to their home in Arabia.
You and I and the US Supreme Court and the FBI all know that when these documents are declassified, they will implicate not just the Saudi Royal Family, but top officials of the Bush Administration (Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Powell), our own CIA and Israeli Mossad, and Democrats from the Clintons and Pelosi on down. I assume Tulsi knows this as well. But she argues only that our courts should favor the rights of 9/11 victims to the truth over the rights of the Saudi Royals to keep their secret.
They can call her a Russian Agent. They can say she is sowing chaosin the otherwise perfectly fair primary procedures of the DNC. They can censor her and try to hide her web site from Google searches. But they can't answer the substance of her position.
Ironically, among the talking heads of the American mainstream, only Fox News is covering this.
