Trump and the Democrats betrayal of the working class

It's amazing how liberal democrats fail to understand why Trump appealed to so many people who voted for him in 2016 and 2020 and why he still appeals to so many now.

In 2016 Trump simply wasn't the hated Hillary Clinton. She became over-confident and took it for granted she would win.

When Trump won the Dems became apoplectic over him. They couldn't understand why so many people voted for him. Instead of understanding the why's and wherefores of their failure the Dems got into the blame game i.e. it was the Russians and Putin that got him elected. They couldn't face the truth of their failure so they took the easy way out; accuse others.

Let's not forget the Dems were at the heart of destroying domestic manufacturing, sending it to 3rd world countries and in the process destroying working class incomes. The corporate moguls benefitted from the move also making sure to underwrite the electoral campaigns of the politicos. To top it off they blamed the American working class for the demise of domestic manufacturing because of their higher incomes and benefits. The working class saw it as betrayal by the Dems and never forgave them.

In 2020 Trump lost to Biden yet still garnered over 74 million votes.

Some 18 months later Trump still appeals to millions. Why?

First and foremost the Trump crowd of mostly working class people still feel betrayed by the Democrats.

Even though Trump didn't bring the working class jobs back or do anything to lessen the plight, these people continue to face hardship in small town America. So if Trump runs in 2024 they'll likely vote for him again. Of course that's a big if. He's being prosecuted by attorney generals in multiple states. And without a conviction he'd still be able to run in '24.
