I write this in response to the ignorance perpetrated by people unwilling to attempt to understand the frustrations of the ordinary citizens in the "Town Hall Meetings". I read the blogs, the forums and the articles spouting the same predictable lies, by people either unwilling or unequipped to understand the truth. But, I will try, knowing that deft ears listen.
This is the axiom of the frustrations you hear. H.R.3200, Health Care Reform Act of 2009 is nothing more than 435 members of the legislative branch, going poo into a bowl, and covering it up with whip cream, some sprinkles and a cherry. The whole time this "dessert' is being touted as the solution to our problems the details are known and do not scream "creamy and delicious". It has NO cash solvency, short-term or long-term. It cuts the meager benefits already given even further. It forces every citizen to join, regardless of needs, into a program doomed for failure before the ink is dry, and it will take 10% of the GDP with it. Worse, the same sales people hocking our "dessert' are unwilling to take a big bite themselves. I guess the rats are smart enough to not jump into a sinking ship.
The citizens in these "Town Hall Meetings", the so-called Tea Party rabble, are so angry because there is no one listening in Washington.
If you think for one iota that these citizens are Republican plants, you have no clue the impotence of the party, or of the genuine emotions displayed. Republicans are at best nothing more than Umpa Lumpa's that sing to the sound of Mr. Wonka's whistle. At worst, they will purposely allow this bill to pass to give them "a campaign issue" to run on. Republicans are either selfish children unwilling to become warrior men of strength, or else useless traitors to their acclaimed values. No sir, there is no love for them at all.
Try and understand, we are in fact a Republic form of government. This means that governors have a responsibility to listen to those they govern. What we are watching today is a Democratic Oligarchy in action, where "the people" have chosen from a shallow pool of elitist candidates, benevolent leaders who dictate self-aggrandizing mandates to the citizens they claim to serve. Worst, these same mandates exclude the very leadership that writes the law. There is no representation of the citizen base, just "trickle down" politics.
Advocates of H.R. 3200 - try opening your eyes and reading the fine print of the actual law proposed, before opening your idiotic mouth. This bill will pass because too many political egos are tied up into it. But when it does, I want to be the first to remind you, when you take a big bite of this "dessert', that it is in fact poo. You will get exactly what your ignorance asked for, and we will all be required to take a big gulp of the tax increase necessary to swallow this load.
