If I could have a face-to-face talk with Nadya Suleman, the mother of now 14 children, it would be to tell her that the care and responsibility for those children is her responsibility and hers alone. It is up to you to figure out how to care for them, not we the people or the people in California.
Today, the California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger will notify 20,000 state workers today that their jobs will be eliminated?
This state is in a state of emergency as Reuters reported, "California, America's most populous state and the world's eighth biggest economy, has experienced a dramatic fall in revenues because of the housing downturn, rising unemployment and a sharp pullback in consumer spending."
It has been reported that the care of these octuplets will fall on the shoulders of every single Californian and they do not have the money to care for your children as they are being treated in the hospital. The care of your other six subsequent children is also being paid by the state.
Suleman is one selfish woman to dump her responsibility on the state of California when now 20,000 wonder if they will be able to feed and house their families.
Suleman should forget about going back to college and get to work somehow to pay down a $50,000 dollar debt she incurred in student loans. She must somehow think of ways of making money to care for her children or lose them.
Now is the time for the court to come in on behalf of all of her children and for prosecutors to look into seizing the assets of the doctor that helped her bring eight more children into the world.
This birth was not in the least a miracle but a scientific act that took place in a lab and treatment room. These babies were created in a Petri dish and then inserted into her. Someone like the doctor should have stepped up to the plate and stopped her. Some ethics board should have also stepped up to the plate and stopped that doctor.
To those in the private sector who wish to help her, go ahead, but the care of these children should not be born on the backs of tax payers of the State of California. They have enough to worry about!
