I do not know how many of you are keeping up with what is going on in politics. I know that for some of you it is boring. Are you willing to continue having our rights taken away from us? Perhaps it was not important to you when the Supreme Court made a decision that corporations are now considered to be PERSONS. Yes, a person , and this gives them the same rights we, the people have. These corporate 'persons' are adept at being sneaky and through their multi-conduits of overseas branches; it is easy to funnel foreign funds into campaign coffers.
It is blatantly obvious that foreign corporations are now pouring BIG MONEY into the coffers of those running on the Republican Ticket. Hello, wake up! I know there are many supposedly good Republicans as well as some good Democrats. However, please notice that the Democrats are receiving fewer large corporate donations. The BIGGEST SCAM is that since corporations have "person' rights, they are now bringing foreign funds in. One avenue being used is through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, a non-profit organization. It seems that corporations have long tentacles all over the world. They are not solely U.S. corporations. Pull a string and you will find a large worldwide network. Why do you think we have outsourcing?
Karl Rove is the mouthpiece for the Republican Party and his non-profit organization Crossroads GPS just happens to be a form of non-profit where it does not have to list its contributors. We are in the midst of a dirty and nasty political war for our votes and our minds.
OUR LAST RIGHT APPEARS TO BE OUR RIGHT TO VOTE. Some of you may disagree with me, and I want you to investigate and make your choice as how to vote and for whom. We do not need a gun; we only need to vote and to investigate the one you are voting for. It is known that our major news television stations are backed by foreign corporate money. I urge you to not watch or listen to political ads. Scratch a political ad and in all likelihood, foreign corporations pay for it.
We all need to vote if we are eligible. To not vote indicates one is willing to go down with the ship. Becoming aware of what is being thrown at the public is to empower ourselves. When driving, notice the campaign signs and perhaps the realization will come that the candidate that has the most campaign signs is getting big dollars from the corporate world. Campaign signs do not come cheap. I know because I have been active in three political campaigns on the local and state level.
I became aware of how the money trail can influence the voters. A few years ago, I worked to have a man elected as a state representative. Campaign donations by law are required to be made public. I found it interesting that his opponent was receiving donations from a corporation in another state that is on the east coast of the U.S. Now, why would this corporation be interested in a state representative running for office on the west coast? It became obvious later when a bank failed and the company from the state on the east side of this country acquired the failed bank.
The Republican Party is also bringing in and backing women who are window dressing such as Sarah Palin. Cassandra James published an article last September with this comment; Three crazy Republican women running for election in November though, really take the cake. Jan Brewer, Christine O'Donnell and Sharron Angle - the most unqualified, right-wing Christian, lying, cheating, thieving, and downright most dangerous lunatics in America. Meet the women of the GOP.
This is quite an indictment; however, I view it the same way. The Republicans are using a ploy they used in the late 1970's when they wanted the Equal Rights Amendment defeated. They recruited Phyllis Schlafly - a conservative lawyer and Republican. She became the GOP voice for women and she did an excellent job of keeping the Equal Rights Amendment from becoming a reality. It only needed three state's votes to have it passed.
I see Palin, Brewer, O'Donnell and Angle as pawns for the Republicans. I resent women being used and these above mentioned women are stepping on the backs of the great women such as Alice Paul who went to jail and was tortured so women could have the right to vote. If it had not been for them, these women would have no voting rights or be allowed to run for a political office. Shame on them! Their transparency shows in that they really want the fame, the glory and the potential of writing books. These Republican women are not running for office to benefit the people.
From my research and having been a military wife for 23 years, the Republican Party is pro-war. War promotes big profits for the military/industrial complex and President Eisenhower in his farewell speech warned us about this. Our war in Iraq was not about Saddam Hussein. It was about oil. Our war in Afghanistan and Pakistan is not about the Taliban. It is about the resources of those countries.
Therefore, I urge those of you reading this to do your own research and to observe what is going on around you and how it is affecting our economy. We had hope when Obama was voted in, and then the hate promotion began and weakened his position. He also learned perhaps that he was not in charge. Perhaps he learned that the military now is in charge for the corporate world. It is something to think about.
Your vote is precious, and it is the last bastion we have since the Supreme Court and the Cheney-Bush regime did what they could to trash our Constitution.
Why not contact your national representatives and demand a law be passed that corporations are not a person and have no right to vote or participate in elections. Change must begin with each of us. Please use your vote wisely.
