The ONLY Way We Are MOST POWERFUL

The ONLY Way We Are MOST POWERFUL is to work together. That will take organization and fighting the liberals' tendency to operate as loner individuals or organizations. 

I hosted a meeting of our local Coalition for Voting Integrity last night. It's a great organization with a dedicated team of volunteers running and supporting it. They're struggling to raise the funds to keep their work going. I'm a founding membe of the group and I'm contributing some of my time to help in a number of ways. 

And yesterday, as I reported yesterday, I met with a newer group-- leaders of a number of different local organizations, planning further on building a local coalition of progressive groups and activism organizations. The prior meeting we'd put together a list of the kinds of organizations we envisioned could participate in such a coalition. These include:

Women
Health
Energy
Environment
Hunger
Housing/shelter
mental health
prison/prisoners
Drugs, Hemp
Agriculture/sustainability
PETA /Vegetarian
Pets, Pet Shelters
Watershed
Nature Centers
Voting Integrity
Church social action groups
NAACP
LGBT
Native Americans

At the Coalition for Voting Integrity meeting last night, I mentioned the coalition project. It was well received and the idea of sharing skills and skill-resources was raised. This is looking better and better. 

I share these experiences because I believe we should be doing this both nationally and internationally. Paul Hawkens writes about it in his book, Blessed Unrest, which I highly recommend.  And a handful of people have written to me, in response to my reporting on this project, that they're attempting similar projects. We need to share ideas and make this happen. We are FAR MORE POWERFUL  when we join forces and work together. It's the only way we will get through this cataclysmic economic crisis we are experiencing. One way to work together is to share our stories.
