The heart and soul of America, the middle class as we have known it, is under siege, is being ravaged, and is in the process of being dismantled. This is not delusional thinking; this is actually taking place as the American middle class is being beaten into submission by the masters of Corporatism.

How dangerous has this condition become? Check out this article that lists 30 statistics that indicate how the American middle class is "dying right before our eyes." These statistics are alarming; they portray a middle class that is being ripped apart. Each one of them can be tied either directly or indirectly to the massive, unrestrained power of Corporatism, backed by the strong support of the U.S. Congress. This deeply corrupted relationship between the powers of Corporatism and the U.S. government is clearly fascism. We can take that a step further and identify this relationship as "a betraying, treachery, or breach of allegiance" of the people of America.

During the past four decades, beginning in the 1970's, the collusive relationship between this government and the business community, primarily the banking industry, reached new heights. Between the presidents who occupied the White House, the members of Congress, and the Corporatists, they created an atmosphere in which vitally important regulations were eliminated and financial manipulation became an art form. These financial criminals were given free rein to cheat, steal and fleece the people of America at will.

And after the banksters had set the American people up as objects to be manipulated and tricked by using every conceivable form of fraudulent financial transactions, the associated masters of Corporatism moved in to take further advantage of the middle class. These were the giant corporations from which we purchase our food, our clothing, autos, appliances, and the myriad of electronic marvels such as smart phones that now dominate our lives. Many of them were transnational corporations that, while they may be headquartered in this country, have no bond, allegiance or loyalty to the American people. People are merely objects to be used in the pursuit of greater profitability.

Many of these corporations, especially the giant retail chains, employ many millions of Americans who work for the minimum wage and receive either minimal benefits or none at all. These workers might be thought of as the American version of the typical Chinese worker who earns a bare existence by producing the many products that are exported to this country. After these products are assembled overseas and arrive in America, millions of workers here earn minimal wages in the distribution and sales of these products for Wal-Mart, Target and other major chains. What these corporations have done is to develop a very clever system of very low cost labor in overseas nations that they are now expanding into America. You might call that the "best of both worlds."

The corporate world is now in the process of developing a newly reconstituted American workforce that will be entirely different from the one that once was the best and most highly paid in the world. This workforce will be one in which the workers, who have been beaten down over many years by the outsourcing of their jobs, are so hungry for work that they will do anything to get these jobs no matter how low the wages might be; forget the benefits, forget the pensions, this will be a matter of survival.

Think not, that this can't ever happen? Well, it just did; we have seen its beginning as the mayor of Scranton, Pa. cut pay for police, firefighters, garbage collectors and other public workers to the minimum wage of $7.25, saying that was all the city could afford. This may be the precursor of a larger movement that could spread across America by which millions more Americans could face the same massive pay cuts. This may have started in just one city but it is just one small element in the overall collusion going on between government and the corporate world that is transferring more and more wealth from the middle class to those at the top of the income ladder; those that now have taken control of America.
