Make your voice count. Choose an elephant in the room and be sure your politicians take care of it.

"This is a metaphorical idiom for an obvious truth that is either being ignored or going unaddressed. A risk that no one wants to address." In other words, the elephant is so big in the room that it can no longer be ignored or overlooked.

The elephant in the room can represent an ideology that can be good or bad. In recent years, a living wage, lack of affordable education, disparity of wealth, invasion of privacy, cultural oppression, human impact on climate change, religious intrusions, excessive force, drug abuse, immigration reform, invasion of personal rights, and war vs peace deals have been some of the elephants in our rooms.

If years go by and the elephant is still in the room and/or as one elephant is being addressed, another gets obese, then we need to look at our approach (legislation or lack of legislation), those that are feeding the elephants (politicians), and the elephant's diet (taxes, ideology).

Which elephants do you believe need to be address first? Let your politicians know. www.usa.gov/elected-officials
