The Death Rales of Democracy?

This from today's web:

" ...a three-judge panel of the appeals court upheld a federal judge's ruling that dismissed the (Valerie Plame) lawsuit.

"The court ruled Cheney and the others were acting within their official capacity when they revealed Plame's identity to reporters.

"Government employees who engage in questionable acts, such as abusing prisoners at the Guantanamo Bay facility or engaging in defamatory speech, cannot be held individually liable if they are carrying out official duties, the court said."

It now appears no matter the injury, no one in government is to be held liable for abuse if they are "carrying out official duties."

Translation: As endorsed by our "justice" system, there is now precedent that any government employees can with impunity abuse anyone, to any extent, with immunity from any law, as long as they are "carrying out official duties," which are, of course, any "duties" arbitrarily so designated by the abusers themselves.

Interpretation: Our government can now do anything it wishes, no matter how abusive, to you or to me, at any time, for any reason that suits its purposes, however nefarious. Moreover, the plea that "I was only following orders," disallowed at Nuremburg, works quite well here in the world's once oldest democracy.

This cancer in America's guts will not be excised by yet another nifty slogan, more signs paraded at the local courthouse, a letter to your congressman, or even a vote.

It is time to address government criminality in the clear light of day and beyond the control of the treacherous incumbents and the abyss of blithering partisan-political nonsense.

It is time to ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS.

The only power that can change this is us, we the people, and that power can no longer be delegated.
