OEN previously published an article of mine with six images of Leon Golub's works. It is titled "Leon Golub -- Picturing Some Complications of Power" and can be accessed by clicking here. That article contains an extensive textual introduction to Golub's works.

For me, Golub's "power" paintings are the artistic equivalent of the movie treatment of suicide (which is totally devoid of interpersonal physical violence) in "The Virgin Suicides".

All six of the following images are acrylics on canvas, and were painted by Golub in 1976.*
