Telling the Truth".A Novel Concept
Jon Larsen
Friday, Dec 3, 2010 was one of the saddest days for free speech, a right guaranteed by the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America. It was also one of the most revealing days about corporate greed.
On my television I saw Erskine Bowles pleading with senators of the unofficial United States of Corporate America to extend unemployment benefits to the willing but unemployed workers of America whose financial straits are due to no fault of their own. They are the innocent victims of the insatiable greed of the corporate world whose lust for profits and power knows no bounds. The mega-corporations have out-sourced labor to other countries to achieve the greatest profits at the expense of ordinary working Americans.
I also read about Julian Assange who truly is a world class patriot/ hero who is fighting to keep truth alive about the corporate world's wars of aggression against much of the Middle East for corporate profit. Through the efforts of Assange and WikiLeaks we can learn about the actions of the CIA and Blackwater/Xe in causing outrageously high civilian death rates in Afghanistan and also in Pakistan where we not officially fighting a war. Hillary Clinton, Secretary of State said Saturday that the information which was released by WikiLeaks is not a problem because "that's the way diplomacy works." This raises a question: "Then why are Assange and WikiLeaks being persecuted, targeted and threatened by the U.S. government?"
The truth is that the greedy monopolistic international mega-corporations and the billionaire elites of the world are waging a class war against the middle class and poor of the world. They're being pretty successful at it because we deny the reality of it or just don't seem to care. Maybe it's because most of us don't know because we have little interest in politics and in our future, or because Obama doesn't tell us anything with any urgency, or we are still living too far in the past.
So, watch your TV-- Survivor, Dancing With The Stars, and any of the pandering shows which show the good CIA doing a great job of using torture to achieve their goals. Learn that lying and double dealing are the right ways to get ahead. Keep worshipping the wealthy. Have no compassion for anyone. Watch the corporate "News" and kiss freedom, democracy and truth good-bye.
Thanks to the CIA, billionaires, corporate greed and the Military/Industrial complex, of which Eisenhower warned us, we suffered an attack on the World Trade Center which served to get us fired up for wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan-- and a long list of countries in which to incite revolution against the elected governments and install our chosen corrupt ones for the benefit of unbelievably cold-hearted, compassionless, avaricious, and psychopathically led corporations.
Plan A: If Obama would stop being the great compromiser/appeaser of the greedy rich we might have a slim chance. Now would be a good time before we officially become the United States of Corporate America. But, it would take some real effort on his part and ours. He would have to tell us the truth and tell it to us loudly and often.
Obama needs to: Motivate us with the truth. Stop the continual wars of aggression for the benefit of the rich. Stand up to corporate fascism with no compromises to the "Boehners" and no appeasement. Lead us into a battle against greedy, selfish billionaires who apparently plan to turn us into serfs and slaves.
Plan B: Accept that the psychopathically greedy corporations will get to keep their tax breaks and will eventually own every square inch of the world. They will continue to allow people to die as they see fit to reach a recommended world population goal of 2 billion people. There are currently about 7 billion. This means that the vast majority of us could be: removed for social protest or non-violent resistance, die from exotic diseases and ignored when unable to pay for medical help, poisoned from chemicals, left to die like the Haitians from cholera, or allowed to starve as jobs remain outsourced.
Congratulations are due to us-- the overworked, over-manipulated, over-medicated, under-informed, technology-addicted serfs and slaves of the corporate world.
Special recognition and congratulations are due to the corporate appeasers/pawns of the Senate and the House.
