The Supreme court on a partisan 5/4 decision declared that gerrymandering is not something judges or courts can weigh on. That means congress will have to change these rules.Jeffrey Toobin comments that this will mean that primaries will be where the action is, since districts will be decided by the gerrymandering.
This is a green light for states to be as partisan as possible in redistricting.
My take-- the Supreme Court is among the biggest enemies of democracy, the biggest enemies of the future of a free United States. In her dissent, Justice Kagan declared that this practice "imperils our system of government"
Chief Justice Roberts has proven himself to be a totally partisan political hack. The five extreme right wing appointees have shown to have zero integrity. They are agents of the Republican party not arbiters of justice.
What's your take on this ruling?
