Are you sending your money to the ACLU? To MoveOn.org? Democracy for America? Stop. Stop trying to buy the politicians. That's what just a little of your money does. The rest goes to support the song-and-dance bureaucracy that buys politicians. You're just contributing to the corruption.
Unite. United, we don't need to call anyone. United, we don't need to buy anyone. We will have the power to elect.
A voter strike would usher in politicians who genuinely commit to the America established by our Founders, drastically cut government waste, immediately stop pork-barrel spending, reject political perks and lobbyists, quit borrowing from other nations (such as China), cease imperialism and nation building, lessen the flow of so much government aid overseas, and bring back production and pride in American commerce, etc.
We should examine our representatives, and ask ourselves: Do they represent the people? Do they stand by the Constitution? Do they reduce big government, taxes and our deficit? Are they working to protect our borders and sovereignty? Will they stand up to governmental status quo and gridlock? Do they have the type of character that can resist the temptations of political power and special interest groups?
If your answer is "no" to any of the above, get them out of office. Petition their dismissal; publicize their political problems; and muster community consent in order to vote others in. Call them by name on blogs, and explain to people why they should be ousted; then do it. No more talk.
You know the words of the British orator Edmund Burke, "Evil flourishes when good men do nothing." Well, evil has flourished for too long. It's time for the good people to rise up in a vote strike. Don't just sit back and hope it turns out OK. Get involved. Start in your community. Fight for your country and state. And together, we can reawaken our country.
In the year 1900, 75% of Congressional daily business was in service of "private petitions", brought to Congress by The American People.
Today, that figure stands at 3%, meaning that 97% of all Congressional business originates from either the Representatives themselves, Corporate America, or professional lobbyists.
Do you want a government of the people, by the people and for the people or a government of and for the corporations?
It impoverishes our society when governments are run by big business and not by the people. The question will have to be answered now "" what kind of society are we building, informed by what value system and with what long-term effect to the political and overall moral health of the nation?
Career politicians will do and say anything to keep their power. Power corrupts even those with the best intentions. Both Democrat and Republican Members of the Senate Foreign Relations and Armed Services committees which oversee the Iraq war have between $32 million and $44 million invested in companies with Dept. of Defense contracts.
According to the latest reports, 151 members of Congress invested close to a quarter-billion in companies that received defense contracts of at least $5 million in 2006. These companies got more than $275.6 billion from the government in 2006, or $755 million per day.
More than a quarter of senators and congressmen have invested at least $196 million of their own money in companies doing business with the Department of Defense (DoD).
"It is not the function of our Government to keep the citizen from falling into error; it is the function of the citizen to keep the Government from falling into error".
-U.S. Supreme Court, in American Communication Association v. Douds, 339 U.S. 382, 442
545 PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL OF AMERICA'S WOES
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president and nine Supreme Court justices - 545 human beings out of the 235 million - are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
It is inconceivable that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -by present facts - of incompetence, greed and irresponsibility.
I can't think of a single domestic problem, from an unfair tax code to defense overruns, that is not traceable directly to those 545 people.
When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair. If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red. If the Marines are in Iraq, it's because they want them in Iraq.
Those 545 people and they alone are responsible. They and they alone have the power. They and they alone should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses - provided they have the gumption to manage their own employees.
We the people...The Constitution of The United States of America spells out in the first line where the power of our great democracy lies. Unfortunately we the people have allowed the power to slip away to special interest, lobbyist, corporations and career politicians. It is time to reclaim our democracy from the people that are destroying it. Thomas Jefferson said that "All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent"- now is the time for all people to be heard.
THIS NOVEMBER 4TH VOTE THEM ALL OUT!!! NO BAIL-OUTS
