General News Slovenia Amends Constitution, Declares Water a Human Right |

Slovenia has amended their Constitution in order to protect their abundant water supply from predatory commercialization by declaring it "a public good managed by the state" and "not a commodity." Their Prime Minister called water "the 21st Century's liquid gold."
In contrast, Nestle's former CEO Peter Brabeck has said that water is not a public right and should be privatized.
Slovenia's Parliament unanimously disagreed with him:
