The real issue regarding Ms. Sherrod's firing wasn't the Obama Administration's handling of it, but Fox News' engaging in the creation of Goebbels-like propaganda that it spread as if it were a real news story. While Ms. Sherrod was certainly due an apology and of course entitled to be re-hired, the media attention should have focused on Andrew Breitbart, who continues to create fictititous stories which are reported by Fox as real news items. Mr. Breitbart should be fired, and Fox News excoriated for engaging in such activities. The failure of the Democrats to do this (and for the press itself to raise the issue) is all too reminiscent of John Kerry's lack of response to the fraudulent swift boat stories, and Obama's failure to address the supposed "death panels" contained in the proposed health care legislation. The Republicans continue to throw out false swords and the Democrats continue to fall on them as if real rather than fighting back. Enough already.
