Building at Unity College That Housed the 2014 Permaculture Convergence for the Northeast
The 60's and 70's rock band, the Who, often smashed their instruments at the end of the song, "We Won't Get Fooled Again." Within the violence of entertainment, they expressed the anger, frustration and powerlessness of us modern human beings living in our modern world.
In the powerful expression of what many of us feel, the lead singer screams horrifically in expressing the violent throngs of our powerless frustration:
"Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss!"
What's the message behind this? "Ah, what's the use?! Same sh*t, different day!"
Is their act of smashing instruments into a stage in front of thousands of fans simply a reflection of how powerless they felt? More to the point, was the song and theatrics a reflection of how powerless we believe we are?
What if our being passive and powerless was found out to be a lie?
How long do we continue to passively allow for new bosses that are the same as the old bosses?
Can we build something different?
