The North Dakota pipeline met with further resistance. The famous actress Shailene Woodley was arrested for trespassing as she and her mom were protesting. She said that she had her mom video tape her arrest so that it may be shared with the world, and she did this by posting to her Facebook account and her one million fans. What is remarkable here is the actress had an idea her voice would not be heard in the fair light of day so she planned the video recording so all could see how the authorities are trying to hush anyone speaking out.
The actress made a comment about the the officers there had big guns, batons, and a bunch of tie straps. She was nearly walking back to her travel trailer and she was picked out and arrested. Even though others were arrested during the event, the actress felt that she was picked out due to her presence there as a famous actress who could effectively reach out to many others.
There just comes a day that you can no longer maneuver around bad people, and the ideas that make them money. This money and energy comes from somewhere. We may find it hard to come up with the words how this makes us feel, or how this affects us, or even come up with the words to articulate how to get out of this mess; but we can stand up and be accounted for even not knowing exactly what to say. It works out in the long run, when you show up to be accounted for there may be famous actresses there, native Americans, all sorts of unexpected people who just like you are trying to get a hold of the situation and as you are there collectively we each help the other out in finding the wolds, and strengthening our spine so we stand up tall and straight and proud to be accounted for.
