A symphony is defined as follows by Dictionary dot com:

1. In music, it is: An elaborate instrumental composition in three or more movements, similar in form to a sonata but written for an orchestra and usually of far grander proportions and more varied elements.

2. Anything characterized by a harmonious combination of elements, especially an effective combination of colors

3. Archaic: agreement; concord.

Does this symphony need an external conductor? Or is it more like a jam session, beginning with a chaotic mix, which unfolds and evolves into a beautiful piece of music? Consider the following definition of Chaos Theory: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Butterfly_effect

Chaos theory is the field of study in mathematics that studies the behavior of dynamical systems that are highly sensitive to initial conditions--a response popularly referred to as the butterfly effect. Small differences in initial conditions (such as those due to rounding errors in numerical computation) yield widely diverging outcomes for such dynamical systems, rendering long-term prediction impossible in general.
