That is exactly what the bible calls her in the book of Revelation
"And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH." Revelation 17. Is the Pope referring to the greed and corruption of the Curia? Finally we have a Pope giving a hint of the Vatican's pagan origins.

Her hands and feet are depicted alternately as jaguar or eagle claws. "Xochiquetzal, the Aztec Aphrodite is a great example of how the goddess is never depicted authentically. In Aztec myth, Tzitzimitl was said to have been thrown from heaven for sinning against the gods, There is a close is a close parallel in ancient Babylon, where Lamashtu an avatar of Inanna/Ishtar is also said to have been thrown from heaven with wild disheveled hair.
The dragon slayer Sun gods subdued the Creatrix Goddess in most creation myths. Marduk and Tiamat, Ophis and Eurynome, Jehovah and Leviathan among others are their prototypes. These sun gods were probably dragons themselves.
