With the repeal of Roe V Wade now babies will be born into a society that has neither the desire nor the capacity to support them. Or women who can't afford to travel to a place where safe and legal procedures are done will revert to the practices of the past and have unsafe abortions and women will die. It's going to happen people.
It's beyond my comprehension of how these rabid-right-wing white-nationalist Republicans can so fervently love a fetus but hate the child. They vote against the child tax credit, but man they want that fetus to be born into poverty. They won't let schools teach sex education, and that surely has made more fetuses turn into full-blown babies. They don't support affordable childcare for low-income parents so that they can finish school or work to earn enough so that their children won't have to live in poverty.
Most of these politicians don't give a hoot about that fetus at all, but what they do care about is staying in power and they know this is an issue that will garner support from these one-issue right-to-life voters.
If you think they're going to stop with restricting the rights of women to control their own health then you probably believe Putin is trying to DE-Nazify Ukraine. This is just the first item on a long list of rights Republicans will merrily restrict in the name of free-dumb and small government. You don't have to be gay, Muslim, transgender, black, brown, or want the unrestricted right to legally vote, to be included either. If you disagree with their party line then eventually if no one stands up to these rabid-right-wing white-nationalist Republicans they will come for you too.
The only good I can see coming from this, is that this will be an issue that large numbers of Democrats and independents will surely show up and send a message to these book-banning, don't say gay, voter-rights restricting, anti-C.R.T. Trumpanzees, that we don't want to be living in a true-life version of the Handmaid's Tale.
