As this YouTube videomakes clear, Sarah “Barracuda” Palin may be ready to dole from the Alaskan coffers to every member of Alaska’s population $3,200 largesse that she had nothing whatsoever role in producing, she may be ready to take a child to hockey practice, but she is not ready to don the obligation of taking hold of the governmental reins, if the need were to arise. Senator McCain has acknowledged he is ignorant of matters economic. Today Governor Palin, with her journalism degree tucked under her arm, that while she may be qualified to report on a sporting or other event, she is wholly no more qualified to any more posit on economic matters than is her Arizona running mate.
_Today, September 7, Sara Barracuda stated to a Colorado Springs gathering, “Fannie Mae (FNMA — Federal National Mortgage Association) and Freddie Mac (FHLMC — Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation) had gotten too big and too expensive to the taxpayers.”

The media are calling this a gaffe. This was no gaffe. This was an exhibition of ignorance that is dispersed in Econ 102; second semester economics; perhaps even Econ 101. Not even George Bush, in all his oratorical splendor (Sarcasm, for those who might otherwise not recognize it.), would ever have said something so entirely stupid.

Just one coronary infarction from the office of the President of the United States, and the candidate is ignorant of something so utterly elementary. Think about it.
