My note is short-'the center cannot hold'.
As usual, the 'Negro' statement by H. Reid revealed in the book Game Change is discussed, chewed, spit out, swallowedand discussed again. Of course, the main topic is the 'state of mind' of Sen. Reid, etc., also comparisons with GOP, whatever. ALL OF THAT IS NONSENSE.
In the Y2008 apparently the powerful groups were deciding to support the Dem candidate but they did not know whom to choose yet. H. Reid was one of those people who were supposed to do the preliminary screening and give the masters the asssurance that the candidate chosen would be the one with no surprises. THAT IS WHAT HE DID! He told in his MESSAGE TO THE MASTERS that although Obama was surely a black dude, he was 'light- skinned' and also did not behave like a Negro or speak as one 'unless he wanted it.' Pure and simple. Mr. Reid did his job to make the masters happy. He HAD to do that in THAT WAY because a) most of the masters are goons and they understand only this kind of a language and b) he had to do that publicly so that to show that he was in that process with them openly and willingly. Of course, it is a mindset. A mindset of a slave.
If progressives (OEN included) do not stick that simple truth into their thick heads and do not adopt a simple premise that EVERY STATEMENT OF A POLITICIAN IN THE US IS A MESSAGE TO THOSE WHO GUIDE HIM (HER), we here better stop writing altogether. Otherwise I am expecting a big banner on OEN with the statement, 'WHO ARE THE RACIST MASTERS OF DEMS AND GOP?'
