Russia has begun sharing military intelligence with Syria, Iran and Iraq in the fight against the Islamic State in Syria.

This after Russia recently increased its military assistance to the Assad government sending in fighter planes, tanks and other military hardware to Assad's beleaguered forces-all quite legal under international law where Russia has long standing military contracts with the legitimate Syrian government- which unlike the US bombing campaign in Syria is illegal under the Geneva Agreement concerning the rules of war.

According to the New York Times [1], the US was left "scrambling" over the Russian accord which was done "without notice to the US" and "jolted the White House with its unilateral military and political moves".

Well so what. Why does Russian President Vladimir Putin need to get clearance beforehand from the White House hegemon in order to bring coordination among the states fighting against IS? To its credit Russia did initiate calls to the US to begin military to military diplomacy hoping to avoid military clashes in the air over Syria.

Let's remember IS was spawned and is the brutal Frankenstein monster "Dubya" Bush helped create invading Iraq in 2003 and getting his viceroy Paul Bremer to disband the Iraqi army-which was mostly Sunni under Saddam Hussein-instantly creating 400,000 insurgents against the US occupation of Iraq.

Many of the officers from the disbanded Iraqi army formed the resistance to the US in Iraq and later became leaders of IS as it expanded into Syria joining the resistance to Assad that began in 2011.

As for Putin he's to speak before the UN General Assembly today presumably to explain and clarify the situation in Syria, the necessity of supporting Assad, up arming and coordinating the effort with Iran and Iraq to defeat IS.

From here the infusion of increased military aide to Assad giving a necessary infusion to his beleaguered military forces along with Iranian, Iraqi, Hezbollah fighters in coordination with Russian intelligence and military advisors, IS days in Syria could be numbered.

In essence, let some adult Russian expertise enter the fray let the US practice some good old "benign neglect", get the hell out of the way and give Putin a chance to rectify the situation in Syria-and possibly in Iraq-rid the plague of IS to bring some stability to the current situation in Syria.

US inept meddling, invasions, occupations, disjointed and often contradictory actions has not only compounded the situation militarily in Syria but created the worst refugee crisis in Europe since W.W.II from people displaced from the fighting and fleeing from the brutality of IS in Syria as well as Iraq.

Of course the US won't admit failure in the chaos it has sown in Syria so some direct supervisory assistance by Putin may bring some semblance of order.

It would be mystifying if the Europeans-pawns under the thumb of the US- didn't decide to back Putin on Syria if only to stem the tide of displaced refugees flooding to its borders.
