Why Bernie Sanders will be the next President
Our Byzantine political system has given us Oligarchy. Citizens have been complacent and compliant for 40 years. The "Rage Meter" is breaking records daily. The popularity polls of Congress seem unable to rise above a child raping cannibal. Things will change. The alternatives are a sweeping change of ideas and ideals or a violent revolution. The Republican party, with their unstated yet open pandering to capitalism and cash search frantically and desperately for any idea they can present to the public as even vaguely acceptable. Their presidential candidate bench is deep, yet, devoid of even the illusion of competency. With Rand Paul going rogue, the rulers of that party are left with former Governor Jeb Bush to carry their mantle. As of today, even his negatives make him unelectable. He could be defeated in a general election by your Aunt Sally.
Were the election held today, and voter participation rose to over 50% of eligible, any Democrat would win. Republicans must depend on their 30-35% "base" of low information, fear and hate voters, and those independents who can find an overwhelming selfish issue (guns, gays"..).
The Democrats have a much tougher decision. Hillary Clinton now leads in the polls. She is well known. If nominated she would be the country's first female President. A noble accomplishment and something we should work for. Because she is well known, her negatives are incredibly high for a Democrat. A great friend of banks and brokers, Hillary has always shown a very difficult time accepting Democratic platforms and democratic ideals. Her negatives will not abate, leaving many voters on the sidelines, perhaps handing the Presidency to the R's if she were to win the nomination.
Senator Bernie Sanders has been consistent in his open and vocal support of Democratic principles. Those principles, often derided as "socialist" or "radical" are based of the ideals expressed in the writings of our Founding Fathers. Simple ideas of equity, justice, fairness. Those "radical" "socialist" values are what consistently make the foundation of overwhelming favorability in all recent polls.
There will be a Democratic primary. It will begin with the Caucus' in Iowa. Iowa's Democrats who participate in the caucus' are as liberal as the R's are conservative. And, they know Hillary, many personally. Senator Sanders will win the Iowa Democratic Caucus'. New Hampshire's primary is next. The good people of New Hampshire take their primary seriously. They also have a long and well deserved reputation for critical independent thought. Banks and Brokers are not at the top of their favorability rating. Were I forced to make a bet, my money would be on the folks of New Hampshire voting for their own best interest, Bernie Sanders. The other contenders, 10-12 of them have little or no chance of gaining any traction, their only function will be as voices exposing the duplicity of former Secretary Clinton to those voters who will participate.
With Iowa and New Hampshire wins, the media will be forced to cover Senator Sanders campaign. The overwhelming issues for voters, as of the middle of 2015, are income disparity and our false wars for oil in the Middle East. Hillary and all Republicans are on the wrong side of both. On all the secondary issues, Sanders stands with overwhelming majorities while Hillary is either vague or on the wrong side. The Republicans are consistently counter to majorities across the board on important issues. Sanders must increase his name identification, not a difficult job, Clinton must overcome her negatives and find some serious critical flaw in Senator Sanders. Republicans must find a different Universe in which to operate for any hope of success. Barring the unimaginable, prepare for President Sanders.
