I just downloaded Greg Palast's movie, "The Best Democracy Money Can Buy: The Case of The Stolen Election."
I stand in awe at this work of, not journalism, because "journalists" don't get to have an opinion about anything, even the Law of Gravity: but this is authentic Reportage. It's got heart. It's got attitude. It's deeply moving, with bits of comic relief. Palast's film-noir documentary style is not borrowed finery. I have followed his work since at least 07, and he is the doorstep-camping-on, shoe-leather wearing-out, pavement-pounding real deal.
It's an amazing and unique piece of work that is effective on multiple levels. It may yet turn out to have turned the Georgia election, removing the cover. You know, the cover of "divided government" the new admin can hide behind while we all go back to the sleep of exhaustion -- but we'll see soon enough.
Meantime, see the movie before you do another thing, so that next good thing you take on isn't completely blindsided and hoodwinked. People who have no integrity and no dignity can only stay afloat by pushing everybody else under. Now, thanks to Palast, at least we now how they did it, and who they are. The ball's in our court, now.
