The ozone Layer is a layer of gas that protect planet Earth from harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiations, these radiations on reaching the earth surface can cause skin cancer and cataract in humans. The ozone layer is present in an upper part of the atmosphere called the stratosphere, 19-48km above sea level.
About four decades back, measurement showed holes in parts of the ozone layer caused by gases released from substances used by man. The Ozone Hole became topical there on, there have been national agreements to reduce the use of substances that release harmful gases to the ozone layer on escape there.
Ozone Hole Recovery, repair or solution is only possible naturally due to gas molecules involved, chemical reactions occuring at the stratosphere and the altitude of the stratosphere. Natural recovery of depleted parts of the ozone hole is posited in 50years but damaging effects of the ozone depletion is already felt today.
A developing research work on Ozone Hole Recovery suggest an artificial means of closing holes in the ozone layer, this will use stratospheric-flying battery-powered aircrafts to discharge one of the gases involved in protection reactions in the ozone layer. The gas, oxygen will be transported as liquid from the Earth and discharged as gas at the stratosphere. This workable research will close
depleted parts and repair the ozone layer.
