Historically, President Barrack Obama will be seen as a centrist. A President who did everything possible to get the extremist, radical element, within the republican party to participate in our bicameral legislative body, in other words to get the tea party republicans to compromise and govern. Based upon Presidents Obama's actions towards business and foreign policy, his tenure will be viewed as conservative in nature. His energy program, all the above, which includes expansion into national reserves and his continuation of the previous administrations foreign policy agenda are two examples.

Now Mitt Romney, the chameleon, is much harder to pin down. Looking at his tenure as Governor of Massachusetts and his past opinions on record, we can say he is a very progressive, liberal even, republican. After all, the Health Care Act the right is screaming about was modeled on the one Mitt Romney put into action. His former opinions, stated several times, that he supports a woman's right of choice and endorsed birth control are examples of extreme policy position changes. One has to wonder, if he gets elected were will his opinions turn.

You have to give credit to the Christian Evangelicals in this nation for backing Mitt Romney. In his religion one man leads the church. This man, according to them, speaks directly with God. No, not a spiritual leader who interprets the scriptures and writings of Joseph Smith but, actually has verbal conversations with God. Then there is the fact that the Mormon faith doesn't believe in the virgin birth. They believe Mary played loose and fast before marrying Joseph. Not to mention heaven is some distant planet where God lives as a man.

This clearly shows that Christian Evangelicals have become more progressive and liberal by the process of cultural socialization within this great melting pot called America. It shows they actually do understand the first amendment after all. That they respect the fact that this is a nation of multiple theological beliefs and that we are not a Christian nation.

Remember, the choice is between two candidates who actually are quite close in political ideology. A conservative centrist democrat and a progressively liberal republican, you decide.
