The chant heard round the country and world for that matter during the 2000 presidential election and recount was, “Sore loser man” and “Get out of Cheney’s house” as protesters picketed former Vice President Al Gore outside the Naval Observatory.

That recount and the legal wrangling that took place lasted 37 days until former Vice President Al Gore conceded the race on December 12th, 2000 which will forever be a day of infamy.

As I just counted the days since our last general election it has been 105 days and the Minnesota senate seat formerly held by Norm Coleman has YET to be decided?  What ‘irreparable harm’ is or has been done to former Senator Norm Coleman?  That term ‘irreparable harm’ was used within the Bush V. Gore case.

It is up to some judicial body within the state of Minnesota to say to Norm Coleman, you have had your say and now the will of the people must come first before your selfish desires to hold onto that senate seat.

What is presently occurring in our economy is FAR bigger than anyone person, namely Coleman.  To hold up the people’s business from getting done is by far the most selfish act coming from anyone that I can presently think of.  Even former Vice President Dick Cheney and blowhard talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh because a senator has actual governing powers.  What they have done was to create noise and the people of Minnesota need representation in the senate body.

The time has come NOW that a decision comes down to end this ordeal and to have Al Franken seated in that senate seat where he can be brought up to speed and sworn in by Vice President Joe Biden.

The only ‘irreparable harm’ I see occurring now is California governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger will notify 20,000 state workers today that their jobs will be eliminated?

This state is in a state of emergency as Reuters reported, "California, America's most populous state and the world's eighth biggest economy, has experienced a dramatic fall in revenues because of the housing downturn, rising unemployment and a sharp pullback in consumer spending." By the way, this Republican governor sides with President Barack Obama in his support of the Stimulus Package.

To further shame the Republicans, the State of Kansas, as reported by the AP, “hassuspended income tax refundsand may not be able to pay employees on time, state officials said Monday.” Imagine an entire state being affected by this economic crisis?  This is where Coleman should put these people first.

As I am writing this editorial, the DOW is plummeting by a little over 260 points where it now stands at a little over 7,590.  Is Coleman’s bid to keep hold of that senate seat more important than those numbers?  It most certainly is not.  Get out, Coleman!

Former Senator Norm Coleman is as smarmy as they come if he thinks his concerns far outweigh the needs of the many.  It is time for former Senator Norm Coleman to get out of the incoming Senator, Al Franken’s seat.
