"No" on the death photos? How about releasing the burial at sea video?

Earlier today it was announced that the White House is not releasing the bin Laden death photos, with the "official" reason being concern over "sensitivities" and the worry that the supposedly gory pictures may enflame Muslims, putting our troops who are engaged in illegal wars overseas in more jeopardy.

Days ago, as the media and the White House discussed the possibility that the death photos might be released, the possibility that the burial at sea video might be released was also mentioned.  While the White House is trying to cower behind its flimsy excuse of concern over Muslim outrage to justify not releasing the death photos, this excuse doesn't provide any justification for not showing bin Laden wrapped in a sheet and being eased into the water, as news reports indicate happened.  After all, if the burial were truly done in respect of Islamic tradition, wouldn't such an image actually make us seem more respectable to Muslims?

The President needs to address the burial video as well as the death photos, since his excuse doesn't apply to this important piece of alleged documentation. There would be nothing gruesome in this evidence since the body was supposedly covered.  The longer Obama waits to release this video (if he ever does)...the more time passes...the more people will believe that it's a fake.

And justifiably so.
